Another outstanding conference is in the works!

The Historical Novel Society's third North American conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg, Illinois.  Running from the evening of Friday, June 12, 2009, through the morning of Sunday, June 14, this weekend-long conference will feature workshops, panels and keynote addresses on various aspects of fiction set in the past, and will present authors, readers, industry professionals and other historical fiction enthusiasts with a unique opportunity to celebrate the genre.

Our author guests of honor are Margaret George, bestselling author of biographical novels including The Autobiography of Henry VIII, Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles, The Memoirs of Cleopatra, and most recently Helen of Troy, and Sharon Kay Penman, bestselling author of seven critically acclaimed historical novels as well as four medieval mysteries.

Registration fees include entrance to all daytime panels and workshops, the Friday night dinner (with Margaret George as featured speaker), Saturday buffet lunch (with Trish Todd of Touchstone Fireside/Simon & Schuster as keynote), Saturday dinner (with Sharon Kay Penman as featured speaker), and Saturday and Sunday continental breakfasts.  Pre-registration is required; we cannot take payments on site.  Following Saturday's dinner will be a historical costume fashion show. All of our attendees are welcome to participate!

The conference is limited to the first 300 registrants.  As of June 1st, registration is closed.
