LOCAL INFORMATION
Schaumburg, Illinois, is
the retail commercial hub of the northwest suburbs, located
approximately thirty miles from downtown Chicago. If you have extra time
in the Schaumburg area, here are some local attractions of interest.
Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. The Schaumburg Castle is
located at the intersection of I-90 and Roselle Rd (2001 N. Roselle
Road, Schaumburg, IL) . Tickets ($57.95/adult + tax) include dinner and
a show, in which six knights, donning authentic medieval armor, clash in
a medieval jousting tournament for the title of King’s Champion. See

The Woodfield Mall, the Chicago area’s largest shopping center,
is located across the street from the Hyatt Regency Woodfield. Free

Streets of Woodfield, an outdoor specialty shopping center with a
mix of urban street-front shops, restaurants, and a 20-screen theater.

The Spring Valley Nature Sanctuary (1111 E Schaumburg Rd,
Schaumburg) has 135 acres of fields, forests, marshes and streams.
Spring Valley also features over three miles of handicapped-accessible
hiking trails. Free admission.
Also on site is the Volkening Heritage Farm, a living history
museum demonstrating what life was like in an 1880s German farm
community. Authentically dressed interpreters welcome and guide visitors
