HOTEL and DIRECTIONS

The conference will take place at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, 660 Albany-Shaker Road, Albany, New York.  The Desmond Hotel, opened in 1974, is designed in the colonial style, mirroring a small colonial village complete with indoor, landscaped courtyards, in bloom year-round.  All of the guestrooms are appointed with 18th century replica furnishings.  All accommodations are non-smoking.

The HNS Conference has reserved blocks of rooms for the nights of Friday, June 8th, and Saturday, June 9th, 2007.  Mention group number 10Z0LF to receive the negotiated room rate of $109/night, single or double occupancy, plus tax (11%).  The Desmond will honor the $109 rate for the Thursday night as well, space permitting.  Please call 800-448-3500 toll-free (within the US) to make reservations.  For non-US residents, the Desmond's phone number is (518) 869-8100.

The cut-off date for making reservations as part of our room block is May 18, 2007. After this date, reservation requests will be taken on a space and room availability basis.

PLEASE NOTE that as of 4/1/07, the Desmond is completely full.  Rooms are currently available at many hotels on nearby Wolf Road. These include the Holiday Inn Albany (1-518-458-7250, 205 Wolf Road, starting at $109.95/night); the Marriott Albany (800-443-8952, 189 Wolf Road, $124.95/night); Best Western Albany Airport (518-437-1838, 200 Wolf Road, $109/night); and the Red Roof Inn (518-459-1971, 188 Wolf Road, $69/night).  These are not specially negotiated (or guaranteed) rates, and the conference does not have blocks of rooms arranged at these hotels, but we mention them for your convenience. These hotels are within a mile or so of the Desmond.
