The HNS Conference Presents...

 SATURDAY NIGHT FEAST 'n' FUN


New for 2007!  On Saturday, June 9, the HNS Conference is hosting a very special evening for conference attendees. Join your friends and colleagues for:

  • a three-course banquet in the ballroom of the Desmond Hotel
  • a keynote address by bestselling novelist Diana Gabaldon
  • the Historical Talent Revue, which features several historical novelists as performing artists (yes, they not only write, but can act, sing and entertain)

The Historical Talent Revue Program includes:

  • Sisters in Story: dramatic storytelling in both Celtic and Native American versions, with a bridge about how they express the hopes, dreams and values of each time and culture.  Performers:  Juilene Osborne-McKnight and Eileen Charbonneau
  • Historical guitar music and song.  Performer: Stephanie Cowell
  • Appearance by the notorious pirate Black Jim Spudcake.  Performer: James L. Nelson
  • Play:  "Inconvenient Women" by Rosemary Poole-Carter, about four women incarcerated in an institution in the American South at different points in history, performed radio style.  Performers: Stephanie Cowell, Eileen Charbonneau, Madelaine Culp, Juilene Osborne-McKnight
  • Belly-dancing.  Performer:  Sophia Eastley
  • "The Whisky Speech."  Performer: Chris (C.C.) Humphreys
