Michael Joseph/Penguin UK has provided the Historical Novel Society with five new hardback copies of Warrior of Rome: Fire in the East, written by Oxford academic Harry Sidebottom.  Called "a bold, dramatic and unforgettable tale of honour, bravery and bloodthirsty battle in the best-selling historical adventure tradition of Bernard Cornwell and Conn Iggulden," Fire in the East is the first instalment in an immense grand narrative – the Warrior of Rome series.  More details via the Penguin catalogue.

To enter, send an email to contest@historicalnovelsociety.org with your name, mailing address, and your response to the following question:
What does a frumentarius do?

Five winners will be randomly selected from among the correct entries.  Deadline is 31 August 2008.  This contest is open to current HNS members from the United Kingdom.
